Robert M. Beren Academy is an Orthodox day school affiliated with Yeshiva University and the Association of Modern Orthodox Day Schools (AMODS) that provides a comprehensive Jewish and college preparatory education in an atmosphere of reverence, good citizenship, and love of the Jewish people and Israel. Our goal is to educate students to become self-confident, compassionate, practicing Jews as well as committed citizens and life-long learners.
Adhering to standards of academic excellence and exemplary moral conduct, it prepares its graduates to become confident, well-educated Jews. Our college preparatory program is integrated with an intensive Jewish studies curriculum. We help provide our students with a strong Judaic and secular foundation necessary to become committed Jewish citizens while cultivating an inquiring attitude that enables them to contribute positively to the world in which they live.
Robert M. Beren Academy is the only Houston Jewish day school to educate students from pre-school to twelfth grade, providing an outstanding academic curriculum in both Judaic and secular education. Lower school students interact with upper school students and faculty providing role models who challenge and guide them in formal and informal settings. Additionally, this structure benefits older students by offering them opportunities to demonstrate responsibly and assume positions of leadership. Also housed in its beautiful 54,000 square foot campus is a Jewish Montessori school for grades 1-3.
Robert M. Beren’s educational program balances disciplines-based learning with child-centered inquiry. Academics are enhanced by a strong enrichment program and by a myriad of opportunities for student’s self expression. Programs include honors and advanced placement courses as well as special education curriculum and resource room support. Students take part in a prestigious Hebrew curriculum beginning in kindergarten, and students who are new to Judaic studies have access to a Hebrew Uplan program. Extra curricular activities include sports, drama, visual art, and technology.
The creation of the State of Israel is one of the seminal events in Jewish history. Recognizing the significance of the state and its national institutions, we seek to instill in our students an attachment to the State of Israel and its people as well as a sense of responsibility.
