At RMBA we are blessed with a diverse group of families all committed to providing their children with a first rate General and Jewish Studies education in the warm, challenging and nurturing Jewish environment of a Jewish Day School. This is the fulfillment of our mission.
Many of the parents in our community were fortunate enough to have a very strong Judaic background and are able to provide a tremendous amount of support to their own children in Judaic Studies and Jewish life. However, all parents have not been fortunate to have that background and thus are unable to help their children to the same degree.
Because we have such a wide spectrum of parental knowledge and expertise, it puts us in a strong position to create a real “community of learners” here at RMBA. It is our obligation to find a way for those parents in a position of strength to help those parents who aren’t so that everyone can be a part of this beautiful growth.
What follows is a brief description of “Parent Day School” we will be running:
1. Parents Helping Parents – In this program, parents are “teamed up” with each other to provide homework support, advice and overall guidance.
2. Shabbat Dinners - No Shabbat experience is complete without the enjoyment of delicious food, lively singing, and warm company at a Shabbat meal. If you would like to join a family from the school for a Shabbat meal, either Friday night dinner or Saturday lunch, this is your chance
3. Basic Judaism Classes – 8-session classes will range in topics including Hebrew language, Jewish Parenting tips, Prayer, Jewish History, Jewish Philosophy, Laws and customs, Holidays, and anything else parents want to know
4. Community Shabbaton – A chance to experience a Shabbat experience along with other members of the school community.
5. Living Room Learning
The Torah makes house calls! Host your own small learning or discussion group on the topic of your choice! No subject too small, no group too large.
