Emploment Opportunites with Robert M. Beren Academy

Middle School Science Teacher and High School Environmental Science Teacher- The Middle School courses include General Science, Life Science and Intro to Physical Science for grades 5-7 and two high school Environmental Science.

High School Biology Teacher- The Upper School biology teacher will have primary responsibility for teaching six sections of high-school biological science. Four Biology classes (two regular and two pre-AP) and two AP Biology classes.

High School Social Studies Teacher- Part-Time- The Upper School social studies classes include two US history classes (regular and AP) and two Psychology classes (regular and AP).

The libraries at Robert M. Beren Academy are committed to servicing the information needs of every student, faculty member, and alumni by ensuring that current print and non-print materials are available to support the curriculum goals and objectives of the school. From Kindergarten through twelfth grade, students are taught library skills appropriate for their ages, guiding them to become independent, lifelong learners. Robert M. Beren Academy houses the state of the art Jeanette Oshman Library and two complete Judaic libraries providing materials that contribute to the curriculum and encourage outside reading. The library collection is frequently updated and includes classics, modern literature, and Judaic reference and literary materials. There are extensive non-fiction resources available that coordinate with all of our academic studies. Informative periodicals, DVDs, and videos are provided for use. Our Spring Book Fair will take place from
11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Barnes and Noble on 3003 W. Holcombe Blvd, Sunday, May 18th. Be sure to purchase your summer reading books!

Accelerated Reader

The STAR Reading program is a computer-based test, which will be given to students several times year. The results will provide us with the student's reading level. As this test will be given several times, we will see the student's growth. With the data received, each student will be able to successfully choose appropriate books that will maximize their reading growth.

The Accelerated Reader program works hand in hand with STAR Reading program. Books listed on the Accelerated Reader list have been given a reading level and point value. Students will choose a book within their reading level ranges. Within 24 hours of reading the book, students will take a computerized test. The results of the test will tell us the student's knowledge of the book and how many points he or she has earned. A book list can be found at the following link. However, if a child chooses a book that is not on the list, please call or email Mrs. Jaeger. RMBA can always purchase the accompanying quiz.

If you would like to access your child’s Accelerated Reader assessment from home, contact Mrs. Jaeger and she can create an account for you.
