Fulfilling the Promise: Past, Present and Future Gala

Honoring Dr. Alan Hoffman

Over four decades ago, a few courageous individuals dreamed of opening an Orthodox Jewish day school that would serve the Houston Jewish community.  Through the tireless efforts of many devoted community leaders, today Robert M. Beren Academy – with nearly 300 students from preschool through 12th grade – is a nationally recognized school providing preeminent education to our children. RMBA provides an integrated Jewish and college preparatory education to all students.  The school balances a commitment to Torah education with a dedication to achievement in contemporary society.  Graduates have attended universities across the country, including University of Texas – Austin, University of Pennsylvania, Yeshiva University, Barnard College, and Harvard University.

RMBA will be hosting the 42nd Anniversary Fulfilling the Promise: Past, Present and Future gala on Sunday, February 26, 2012.  The funds raised through this event will help to fund scholarship aid for families in need so that RMBA will be able to continue to provide a Robert M. Beren education to all who seek it.  In keeping with the philosophy that every child deserves a Jewish education, RMBA has dedicated a significant percentage of its budget, over 1.1 million dollars for the 2011-2012 academic year, toward financial aid.

At the upcoming gala we will celebrate the accomplishments of RMBA and honor a most deserving individual, Dr. Alan Hoffman, who will be the evening’s Guest of Honor and be presented the Dena and Baruch Brody Community Leadership Award.  Dr. Hoffman is a superb physician. He is highly respected for his astute diagnostic skills along with his compassion and understanding exhibited when caring for his patients. Dr. Hoffman’s medical acumen is a result of his passion for education.  He is continually striving to sharpen both his intellect and the minds of our children.  Education is his passion.

This passion for education combined with his warmth and sensitivity has enhanced the lives of so many individuals and the quality of our community.  Among those that have benefited the most from Dr. Hoffman’s hard work and dedication are the students of Robert M. Beren Academy.

Dr. Hoffman has worked tirelessly over many years to ensure that the students of RMBA receive the best possible education.  His devotion to RMBA truly knows no bounds.  We are eager to have the opportunity to express our appreciation to Dr. Hoffman for all that he has done and look forward to a beautiful event highlighting some of his accomplishments on behalf of the school and community.

The Fulfilling the Promise: Past, Present and Future gala honoring Dr. Alan Hoffman will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Westin Oaks Hotel.  The Gala Co-Chairs are Elena Diner, Jenelle Garner, Tova Geralnik and Dawne Yarmush.
