Extracurricular Activities - Fall 2023

For Lower School Students:
Students BUILD simple machines using gears, levers and pulleys and then MOTORIZE them using LEGO and K’NEX educational kits and curriculum while BUILDING math and science skills. Using the newest LEGO educational kit, students challenge one another to create, build and test the best design. Students will learn why a machine works and how to manipulate a machine to go faster or slower. Fine motor skills, critical thinking skills; imagination and confidence will increase in this fun-filled class atmosphere.

MONDAYS: KRAV MAGA LEVEL6 (K–5th Grade)

Our skilled instructors and our proven system of training will help students of all backgrounds grow into successful young adults.

Krav Maga is a military self-defense and fighting system developed for the Israel Defense Forces and Israeli security forces derived from a combination of techniques sourced from Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Aikido, and Karate.

Help Your Child Learn The Basics Of Krav Maga With Our Kids Martial Arts Classes and give your child the tools they need to succeed in all aspects of life. Using a foundation of Krav Maga instruction, our Kids Martial Arts classes teach students how to respect themselves and others, how to defend themselves against bullies and other threats, and how to use leadership and communication skills to their advantage.

Level 6 Krav Maga will help your child develop long-lasting skills that will serve them in whatever path they take in life. Our Kids Martial Arts Classes are designed for kids ages 5-14 and teach the foundations of Krav Maga with a level 1 and 2 curriculum.

These classes cover: Movement, Strikes, Falls, Rolls, Defense against most common strong arm attacks. We offer the best character skills beyond the standard physical and self-defense skills that your child will learn in our program, students also take with them valuable life skills that can set them on the path toward success.

 MONDAYS - GIRL POWER WITH MS. KLAUSNER  (3rd-8th)

Girl Power sessions will begin with an activity focused on developing good self esteem and healthy relationships. Students will also learn about basic hair and nail care and have the opportunity to explore and play with age appropriate nail and hair styles, for all hair types, curly or straight!

TUESDAYS - Fun With Morah Sandy (ECE2–ECE4)

Students will enjoy yoga and stretching, learning various yoga poses, relaxing and breathing techniques. Students will also engage in science activities and inspired learning through play. Students will also work on parsha inspired art projects through a variety of mediums including food art.

TUESDAYS - Arts & Crafts with MS. Rantz (K–5th Grade)

In arts & crafts, students will have the opportunity to learn how to paint and craft with Ms. Rantz. We will use all kinds of mediums, materials and techniques to create various masterpieces to treasure at home.

TUESDAYS - Older Dance (4th - 8th Grade)

This dance club will create an opportunity for students to be active, social and creative! Students will learn basic techniques that will help them develop better balance and more fluid movements. They will learn choreography in various styles of dance, that may include, but are not limited to, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, Latin and Israeli dance. Students will also have the chance to collaborate with their peers and express their creativity by developing their own choreography. These dances will be performed in a small showcase in December for whoever chooses to participate.

Kung Fu Kids is a program that develops students' abilities through the fun fundamentals of Kung Fu Martial Arts. We instruct both Boys and Girls in fun, safe, basic kung fu training exercises on campus at RMBA that lets them grow stronger and healthier. ReadyFlipGo is fully equipped with gymnastics equipment and teaches the fundamentals of gymnastics and tumbling. We utilize bars, beam, tumbling and vault in our tailored lesson plans to help each child build new skills in their physical and cognitive development.

This will be an active class where students will learn basic techniques that will not only help them learn how to dance, but also develop better balance and more fluid movements. Students will learn age appropriate choreography to be performed in a small showcase in December. Styles of dance may include, but are not limited to Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Latin dance and Israeli dance. Dance club is for those who want to learn to dance or simply wish to participate in dancing.

Thursdays - CERAMIC CREATIONS (Grades K–5th)
Do you wish you could create more ceramics from clay? Do you love to work with clay but just need more opportunities? This class is for you! We will explore many fun techniques and create a new project each week. Students will go through the process from beginning, shaping the clay, to the end, painting and decorating the fired pieces. This class is being taught by RMBA Art Teacher Ms. Ziyona Rantz. No projects are repeated so feel free to sign up again.
