RMBA is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Early Childhood Assistant to join our team to support the Lead Teacher in fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for young students. The Assistant will play a key role in promoting the social, emotional, and academic growth of children while embracing the values of Jewish education. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the development of young minds in a nurturing and collaborative school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in delivering age-appropriate lessons, both in academic subjects (such as literacy, math, science) and Jewish studies (such as Hebrew, Jewish holidays, and values).
- Support students in their social, emotional, and academic development, providing individualized or small group support as needed.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, outdoor play, lunch, and other transitions throughout the school day.
- Manage classroom, ensuring a positive and respectful environment for all students.
- Prepares classroom materials, displays, and resources for lessons and activities.
- Encourage and support students in developing their social skills, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
- Lead in classroom routines, rituals, and Jewish traditions.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and parent-teacher conferences as needed.
- Maintain clear communication with the Assistant Teacher and other staff members regarding student progress and classroom needs.
- Promote Jewish values, holidays, and customs within the classroom setting.
- Provide general classroom support, including setting up and cleaning up activities, assisting with classroom technology, and helping with administrative tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred).
- Previous experience working with young children, particularly in a Kindergarten or early childhood setting and experience in a Jewish educational environment is a plus.
- Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with young children, parents, and colleagues.
- Passion for working with young children and fostering a love of learning.
- Knowledge of Jewish traditions and practices is highly preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
