Mission Statement
Robert M. Beren Academy is a Modern Orthodox day school that adheres to standards of academic excellence and exemplary moral conduct as it prepares its students to become self-confident, compassionate, practicing Jews as well as committed citizens and life-long learners.
The Mission of Robert M. Beren Academy is to provide:
- An integrated Orthodox Jewish and college preparatory education in an atmosphere of excellence
- A commitment to Torah and its ethical and moral precepts and to the Jewish people
- The development of a spiritual bond with the Land and State of Israel
- The dedication to our American heritage and achievement in contemporary society

Judaic Philosophy
Each child is unique and special. Just as it says on our school’s sports uniforms, we truly view each of our students as Beren Stars. At RMBA we strive to help each student discover and develop his or her own potential, and to infuse them with a passion for Judaism, a love of the Jewish people, and a lifetime commitment to Torah and Mitzvot.

At Robert M. Beren Academy, we strike a balance between relevance and reverence in our Judaic Studies. Using the most up to date technologies and educational practices, our teachers engage the students and ignite their curiosity. Textual skills, critical thinking, and knowledge are stressed, so that students develop a strong foundation. Our goal is to inspire children with the desire, and to empower them with the ability, to continue learning Torah on their own.
The mastery of spoken and written Modern Hebrew is an important priority at RMBA. We differentiate our language instruction so that children with different backgrounds and abilities receive the individual attention and support they deserve.
Torah, Values, and Community
We discuss with our students not only the WHAT of Torah, but the WHY as well. And in the spirit of Torah U’Madda, our students are taught to make connections between their Torah and General Studies.
Our students are exposed to the full range of Judaic Studies - Chumash, Navi, Mishna, Gemara, Halacha, Jewish History, and Jewish Philosophy. The curriculum emphasizes the connection to Eretz Yisrael (The Land of Israel) and the beauty and joy of Chesed (Communal Responsibility). A significant focus is placed on teaching Middot Tovot (Ethical Behavior) such as Kavod HaBriyot (Respect of all Human Beings), Ahavat Yisrael (Caring about All Jews), and Tzniut (Humility and Modesty).
Above all else, at Robert M. Beren Academy, we are a community. Our teachers love their students, believe in them, and relate to them with warmth and care. Students are encouraged to develop self-esteem and are empowered to become future leaders of the Jewish Community.
